The Steketee Under-leaf Sprayer
The same front linkage device is used for this under-leaf sprayer as for the hoeing machine. The bearer on which the elements are fitted is the same as that of the bandsprayer.
The Steketee Under-leaf Sprayer is specially designed to spray chemicals under the plants. The torpedo-shaped hood lifts the crop's branches or leaves. This enables spraying right under the crop.
The hood is connected with a parallelogram with spring in the centre. This steers the hood through the crop or through ridges. So it is actually a crop guiding hood. This enables spraying with more rows than the number of rows which is planted or sown.
The hood can be directly mounted to the bearer. Mounting the hood on a basic element is an option as well. This enables perfect hood height adjustment. By properly adjusting one can spray everything - if desired - without crop damage, in tree cultivation for example.
A continuously width-adjustable hood can be used as an option here. This has the advantage of being able to make the hood smaller when the crop grows.
