The Steketee Maxisprint

The Steketee Maxisprint is the ideal machine for a proper and quick seed bed preparation. The machine is highly suitable for surface tillage, but can be used for preparing potato and wheat fields for planting and sowing as well.

Machine build-up
The Steketee Maxisprint is built to create a seed bed that meets the following demands:

  • Level and smooth
  • Well crushed and pressed
  • Sufficient fine ground to cover the seed
  • Level sowing depth
  • Good capillary action for the germinating seed

We can achieve all this due to the following build-up of the Maxisprint:
  • The front side of the machine has 30 cm wide bits. These bits slice off the surfaces of the ploughed land. The heklik voor vergrotingight of these bits can be adjusted. The resulting loose ground falls in the lowest parts.
  • Behind this row of bits we find the angle bar roller combined with a spring-loaded smoothing plate. This roller consists of angle bars. The angle bars run over the tops where the front bits levelled the ploughed land. Behind this roller sits a spring-loaded smoothing plate that keeps the angel bar roller filled with ground.
  • The combination of bits and spring-loaded smoothing plate ensures that the clods are crushed and the working depth is constant.
  • Behind this, 4 rows of straight vibrating tines can be found. These are adjustable in height with a spindle. The cultivator tines ensure sufficient loose ground on top of the seed bed. Behind these are spring loaded smoothing plates for perfect levelling. Of course these are adjustable in height as well.
  • Two depth-control rollers come last. The first roller is a rotary stripper for extra crushing. Behind this is a heavy roller consisting of square strips, pressing the ground.
  • The complete roller set can be adjusted in angular degree to control the pressure on the rollers.
  • The rear rollers are wider than the front rollers, preventing ridge formation at the machine sides.

Can be hydraulically folded up
The machines with working width of 4.5 and over can be hydraulically folded up. We do this by applying a top frame. This means for example that a machine with a 4.5 metre working width with consists of two 2.25 metre spans. These spans can move up and down from the top frame.

This construction is needed to be able to create a level seed bed with superficial cultivation depth without deep operation. The picture clearly demonstrates the need for this along the plot edges.

Klik voor vergrotingThe Steketee Maxisprint can easily be adjusted to all circumstances. For example, the working depth of the vibrating tines is continuously adjustable with the spindles on the machine. The two smoothing beams can be continuously adjusted in height for a constant and level seed bed. Finally, the rear rollers can be tilted forward or backward separately.

Klik voor vergrotingUndercarriage
The Maxisprint undercarriage enables good seed bed preparation results, even with a relatively light tractor. Furthermore, when working with larger spans, the undercarriage eases turning at the field edge. The undercarriage consist of a single beam, mounted on the three-point trestle of the machine, and a hydraulic wheel set behind the machine. With this construction the weight on the tractor is reduced to a minimum and track formation by tractor wheels is strongly reduced.

Het is mogelijk om de machine met overlappende beitels uit te voeren om het voorjaarsonkruid goed af te snijden.

The Steketee Maxisprint can also be equipped with Flexicoil® rollers in stead of 2 crusher rollers. Because the Flexicoil® is self-cleaning, this option prevents the rollers from filling up. The matching blade scrapers prevent any ground from sticking to the rollers.

Klik voor vergrotingHydraulic Adjustment Tine Frame
One option is to have hydraulic cabin control of the tine frame depth. The spindles on the machine keep their function. With the spindle, the desired depth can be controlled. The cylinders allow increasing or decreasing the tine frame depth 1 centimetre. As the spindles are used in combination with the cylinders, one has a position stop during driving, so that a simple return to the standard adjustment of the machine is always possible.

Klik voor vergrotingCrosskill roller
Another option is to replace the double rollers with one Crosskill roller. This roller crushes the remaining clods and presses the soil as well, resulting in an optimal seed bed. Given the total weight of the machine we advise applying this version in combination with an undercarriage. The undercarriage can be optionally supplied for every Maxisprint

Maxisprint versions
The Maxisprint can be supplied in various versions and dimensions. De following versions are rigid (cannot be folded up): 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 metres. The 4.5, 5.25, 6.0 and 7.25 metres versions can be hydraulically folded up. A hydraulic undercarriage can be supplied optionally.
